During the Great War he served in Superb and Ramilies, and later, in 1922, hewent to the Eastern Mediterranean with the 11th RM Battalion.
He was one of the 19 RM Officers who opted for flying on the formation of theFleet Air Arm of the R.A.F.
He flew in 421 Flight in Eagle and Furious in which ship he was serving when he died.
