After initial RM Courses and fifteen months in HMS Amphion, Lieut Snow took up flying on the same course as McIver (12 September 1937).

Having completed his training and obtained his wings he was serving in HMS Furious. On 12 October 1938 he was approaching the ship to land on when he lost speed, stalled and spun into the sea and was killed.
